Aayowah Kulai – A New Santali Short Film 2025 | Swastik B Films

Swastik B Films, in association with Sanskruti Pictures, proudly presents "Aayowah Kulai", a heart-touching Santali short film that beautifully portrays the struggles, relationships, and traditions of the Santali community. Directed by Sanjay Kumar Behera, this film takes the audience on an emotional journey, highlighting the deep-rooted cultural values and everyday life experiences of the people.

A Story That Reflects Reality

The film tells the story of Madan, a young man caught between his responsibilities and the changing dynamics of modern life. It explores his relationship with his family, especially his mother, wife, and younger sister, and how he navigates through the challenges posed by society. The narrative is engaging, emotional, and thought-provoking, making it relatable to many who have experienced similar struggles.

Sanjay Kumar Behera, the writer and director, has crafted the screenplay with great sensitivity, ensuring that every dialogue and scene resonates with the audience. Karunakar Murmu, as the dialogue writer and assistant director, has contributed significantly to making the conversations feel natural and impactful.

Musical Brilliance and Visual Excellence

Music plays a crucial role in bringing emotions to life in any film, and Aayowah Kulai is no exception. The original background music, composed by Sanjay Wandrekar (Mumbai), enhances the storytelling by creating the perfect atmosphere for every scene. Whether it’s a joyful moment or a deeply emotional one, the music complements the visuals beautifully.

The film’s cinematography, handled by Sanju Marndi, captures the beauty of Santali culture and landscapes with breathtaking shots. Palu Hembram, the film’s editor and DI expert, has ensured smooth transitions and a visually engaging experience. Zubaie Ajmeri Shaikh, the sound designer, has paid close attention to every detail, making the film an immersive experience.

The songs in the film, composed by DD Bro, add to the charm, with meaningful lyrics penned by KK Bro. The melodious voices of Ratharaj, Champarani, and Rupali bring life to these songs, making them memorable. The dance sequences, choreographed by Rajendra Soren, are a beautiful representation of Santali traditions, adding vibrancy to the film.
